About
Courtney leads a team that seeks to understand how programming, supports, curricular materials, and research make a difference for city leaders, organizations, and residents. Courtney and her team provide program teams, leaders, and faculty with data to facilitate continuous improvement, learning, and reporting. She also works to understand and improve program evaluation through thought partnerships with other evaluation leaders, translating best practices from other fields, and developing and testing new methodological tools and instruments.
Before joining the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, she worked for Harvard’s Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, evaluating university courses, policies, and programs. She also served as the senior statistician for evaluation for the New Mexico Public Education Department, where she oversaw teacher and school evaluations throughout the state.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and public policy from Brown University, a Master of Arts in urban education policy, also from Brown University, and an Master of Science in educational psychology (quantitative methods) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Courtney is a ceramic artist, dog mom, and budding stand-up comic.
